Lions’ Golden Oldies had a busy 2010

September 16 - The Golden Lions Golden Oldies Rugby Association (GLGORA) have selected three honorary Vice Presidents in acknowledgement of their years of service to the Golden Oldies cause, namely Alex Visser, Dries Maritz and Harry Prinsloo. At the GLGORA’s AGM this week, James du Toit (president), Melt Baartman (vice-president), Vic Germeshuisen (secretary) and Gabriel Pappas (treasurer) have been selected as office bearers for the next year. In delivering his annual report the president reported that the association through various clubs hosted four mini tournaments in 2010 as well as the national tournament. The next - and last - mini tournament for the year will be hosted by the Golden Lions Golden Oldies Referees on Saturday October 2 at the Johannesburg Athletics Stadium. The Invitation Golden Oldies side of the Golden Lions that has been in action on a number of occasions this year will also have their final outing of the year on October 2 when they will play their Pumas counterparts at the mini tournament.
