FNB Wits tackle Fort Hare with new faces in the pack |
|
February 1 - FNB Wits and FNB Fort Hare, the first-round losers in Monday's 2012 FNB Varsity Shield openers, will be hoping to open their accounts when they meet in a Round Two clash at the Wits Rugby Stadium on Thursday evening (kick-off 7pm).
Wits coach Andrew Royle has made a number of changes in the pack while the is backline unchanged from the CUT encounter. Royle has moved flank Charles Baggot to lock in the place of Rinus Bothma with Devin Montgomery taking his place at No 7, while Sam Peters makes way as open-side flank for Peter van Biljon. Phakamili Zuma takes over from Oliver Rochat at tighthead.
Fort Hare coach Elliot Fana has made just two adjustments to his bench.
If last year’s results are anything to go by, Wits are again in for a tough encounter – and it is up front that they will have to subdue the visitors who lost last year’s two encounters 23-14 and 22-13.
