Absa Currie Cup Trophy Tour in Johannesburg

September 1 - The Johannesburg leg of the 2010 Absa Currie Cup Trophy Tour was held at Maponya Mall, Soweto, on Wednesday 1 September. The Absa Currie Cup competition is steeped in history and tradition, with a trophy that remains the most covered and prestigious award in South African rugby. Xerox Lions players Franco van der Merwe, JC Janse van Rensburg, Elton Jantjies, Jaco Taute and Warren Whiteley attended the event where they signed autographs, posed for photographs, and chatted to their fans. The tour was immensely successful and both players and supporters were proud to attend and show their full backing of the Absa Currie Cup competition.
