Sharks sneak win with ten points in last few minutes

August 28 - The 24-18 loss by the MTN Golden Lions in the Absa Under-21 match against the Sharks at Coca-Cola Park on Saturday saw the Durban side leapfrog the Lioins to third position on the log at the end of the first round of the competition.

Thirteen unanswered points by the Sharks in the last 28 minutes after the teams were all-square at 11-all at halftime, saw them home while the Lions took a bonus point in what could prove to be a crucial match in the competition. Ten points by the Sharks after the 74th minute clinched matters for the visitors in a tense match where both the sides scored two tries.

The Lions, on 18 log points with three wins from six matches, are now in fourh place behind Western Province (28), the Blue Bulls (25) and the Sharks (20), but are well clear of the Leropards at the end of the first round.
