September - The MTN Golden Lions have selected their teams for Saturday’s matches in the Absa Under-19 and Under-21 competitions where both the Lions sides will strive to finish in the top two places of their respective logs to ensure home semi-finals.
Former Australian Schools scrumhalf Eddie Bredenhann is back in the Under-21 starting line-up for the important match against the Free State Cheetas in Bloemfontein on Saturday.
The scrumhalf, born in Witbank but completing his schooling in Australia where he also played for the Waratahs A-side this year as well as representing the Australia Under-21s, was on the bench for the Lions’ Currie Cup side last weekend.
For the Lions’ Under-21s, a win on Saturday will bring them closer to second place on the log, while the Under-19s will increase their three-point log lead over the Free State and retain a (vague) hope to challenge for first log place.
