Eleven Golden Lions Under-20 players have been invited by the coach of the national Under-20 side, Eric Sauls, to a training camp in Cape Town from January 19-27.
The Lions played in last year’s final of the Absa Under-19 competition where they lost to the Free State, who have four players in the training squad. The Blue Bulls, like the Lions, have 11 players in the group.
The invited Lions players are:
Garth April, Wandile Mjekevu, Rinus Riekert, Thurlow Kohler, Christiaan du Rand, Sebastian de Chaves, Ruan Dreyer, Elton Jantjies, Francois du Toit, Divan Ferguson and Jaco Taute
The national team will again be coached by Sauls, with the Blue Bulls Nico Serfontein (backs) and Pine Pienaar from the Free State (forwards) as his assistants.
