Profile Paragraph: James joined the Lions in 2011 after a three year stint with Bath Rugby club. James spent nine years with the Sharks, starting in 1998 at the age of 19 years. James has represented his country on 42 occasions and was a member of the South African World Cup team in 2007 when SA won the World Cup and also in 2011. James played only three games for the winning Lions Currie Cup team in 2011 due to his late inclusion in the team with being at the World Cup, and five games in the Super Rugby team after his return from Bath. On the eight occasions James has worn the Lions’ red and white, he has had a huge impact on the game. James brings with him a wealth of experience to a relatively young team, and is an aggressive tackler and excellent place kicker.
