Profile Paragraph: Roodt signed with the Lions at the end of 2011 and will be making his debut for the Johannesburg based team in the 2012 Super Rugby competition. A former Bulls age-group and Vodacom Cup star, Roodt left South Africa in 2009, taking up a contract with the Waratahs in Australia. He made his Super Rugby debut with the Waratahs against the Stormers in Cape Town before, following the conclusion of the 2010 Super 14, moving back to South Africa. Roodt joined Griquas ahead of the 2010 Currie Cup and immediately made an impact. A serious injury brought an early end to his Currie Cup season but his performances were enough to secure him a spot in the Cheetahs 2011 Super 15 squad.
