Ferguson gets call-up and Bondesio returns for Sharks XV clash

March 17 - The Golden Lions coaching staff have made two changes to the starting side for Saturday’s Vodacom Cup match against the unbeaten Sharks XV at Coca-Cola Park on Saturday (kick-off 2.40pm). With Jannie Boshoff promoted to the Lions Super Rugby side in place of injured Doppies la Grange, former Golden Lions schools and Under-20 player Divan Ferguson gets a first provincial start as centre partner to Alwyn Hollenbach.

Michael Bondesio comes down from the Super team to start in place of JP Joubert who moves back to the bench after starting last weekend. Bondesio was on the Super team’s bench because of Jano Vermaak’s unavailability due to slight concussion, but with Vermaak back Bondesio is reunited at halfback with Andre Pretorius.

On the Golden Lions’ bench Abraham le Roux comes in at hooker for Ashley Kohler, Rudy Paige makes way for Joubert and JR Esterhuizen is in the bench as the three-quarter replacement.
