Defending champs Monnas will want to win @lantic title at home

October 12 - The strength of the national @lantic Sevens series was underlined when the schoolboys of the @lantic Invitation side beat the Namibia national side 38-0 in the Bafokeng tournament two weeks ago after also facing the Springboks  - and the 15th tournament in this year's @lantic Sevens Series at Hoërskool Monument in Krugersdorp on Friday and Saturday promises to be one of the best of this year’s series. Monnas are the defending @lantic champions and must be one of the favourites at this penultimate tournament of the 2010 series. They will want to give a good account of themselves on their home ground.

It will however not be easy. Last week’s winners at Rob Ferreira in Witrivier, Waterkloof, will be one of many top rugby schools at the tournament. Waterkloof also have a little matter of revenge to motivate them after being denied the Beeld Trophy title by Monument.

The participating teams this weekend are:  Bekker,  Monument,  Kemptonpark, Potch Gim,  Marais Viljoen,  Noordheuwel,  Overkruin, Steelcrest High, Florida High, St John's College,  Waterkloof,  Fochville, HTS Middelburg,  Brandwag, Krugersdorp High and Jan Viljoen.

The matches kick-off on Friday at 3.30pm with the Cup final being played on Saturday at 1.15pm.

The last tournament in the series takes place at Konka (near Rustenburg) on October 30 when the winners of the tournaments play off to decide the national (unofficial) title.
