October 14 – The Golden Lions Rugby Union held a cocktail function on Wednesday, 13 October 2010 where all ex players of the GLRU and Transvaal were invited to meet the Union’s new equity partners, re-unite with each other and to have a good evening together at Coca-Cola Park. “We felt it would be very advantageous to invite all of our ex players to meet our new partners, but also to explain to them the changes taking place and the future of the Union”, GLRU President Kevin de Klerk said. With almost 150 guests, the turnout was phenomenal and everyone who attended the event had an enjoyable time. The event was a very good initiative and was received in a very positive manner. A very big thank you is extended to everyone involved in the organizing of the event and to all those who attended.
