There are few places and circumstances where we are all equal. In all walks of life a hierarchy exists. There is a structure in families, schools, companies, countries, and they even exist in the animal kingdom.

I have been a Lions/Transvaal supporter for 40+ years, and in that period our captains have lifted the Currie Cup 5 times, yes only 5 times in more than 40 years. In the history of more than a hundred years of Currie Cup rugby, we have only been champion 8 ½ times.

2009 is a thing of the past, and all water is under the bridge. Looking back it was one of the most enjoyable seasons I have ever experienced, this despite the lack of results on the field. Looking beyond the results, a lot of good came out of the season.
