SOWETO RUGBY MEDIC FIRST AID COURSE

Soweto Region hosted the Medic First Aid Course that targeted Club coaches and Officials but the numbers were not convincing enough nonetheless we proceeded with the number of attendees that came (13) coaches, one administrator and two coordinators from GLRU.

It was well presented by the instructor of the day I could see that our coaches lacked basic knowledge of first aid but the gentleman (Kagiso) was patient enough to guide our coaches through and eventually they managed to grasp some knowledge. Not only first aid was learnt on the day even basic biology for some of the attendees hence the instructor suggested that the courses should be conducted regularly and I share the sentiments with him.

The participants were given visual aids for further reference and they were given ample opportunity to explore practically and they were having fun I could see.

The following things that was highlighted and emphasized on was:
Spine injury, Neck injuries, CPR, Conscious players, Emergence number to dial and shocking patients.

I am satisfied with the attendance because I feel It is guys that are committed to the course and they will benefit us in our future projects.

Soweto Region Coordinator
