INGONYAMA LEAGUE FINALS 2009

The finals of the league took place on 16 October 2009.

The under 19 final was disrupted due to the late arrival of Alexandra Wolves Rugby Club. While one understands that traffic was the major contributor to the late arrival of the team one has to question the planning prior to the final.

All the clubs involved on the day had to travel, i.e. Ennerdale, Alexandra, Kagiso & Khosa. Three of the four clubs were on time while the club closest to Raiders, the venue of the finals, arrived 45 minutes late.

The rules of the competition were applied and Alexandra forfeited the match.

The upshot of all this was that Ennerdale Rugby Football Club retained their under 19 title by default.

The senior final was a closely contested match with Khosa finally prevailing 15 – 6.

The 2009 champions are as follows:

Under 19 – Ennerdale Rugby Football Club

Seniors – KHOSA Rugby Club.

On behalf of the Ingonyama League Clubs & the Golden Lions Ruby Union,  we congratulate Ennerdale & KHOSA.

A special word of thanks to the Ingonyama League Management Committee for all their hard work during the season.
